What Kinetic Servers email is (and is not)
Kinetic Servers is PrecisionTech’s POP3 email hosting on the mail host mx1.precisionservers.in. It is built for businesses that collect mail into Outlook (or another desktop client) on a computer they control.
Three product rules, stated plainly:
- Primarily POP3. Incoming mail is pulled down to your device. This is not an IMAP / “leave everything in the cloud” mailbox.
- Not for storage online. Do not treat mx1 as a filing cabinet, a second hard disk, or a shared team inbox in the browser.
- The server does not retain your mailbox data as an archive. After download, the copy you can search, print and back up is the one on your PC.
If several people must read the same mailbox on phones and laptops, or you need webmail history, say so when you talk to us — that requirement belongs on a cloud collaboration suite, not on this POP3 product.

In Outlook the outgoing-auth checkbox is under More Settings → Outgoing Server. Use the same logon as the incoming POP3 account (not “log on using” a different user unless we told you to).
Outlook-specific notes
Microsoft Outlook on Windows still offers POP3. When the New Account wizard tries IMAP or Microsoft 365, cancel that path and choose manual / POP.
- Account type must read POP/POP3, not IMAP and not Exchange.
- Encryption for both 995 and 465 is SSL/TLS. “None” or plain 110/25 will fail or is unsafe.
- After the first successful download, Outlook stores mail in a local .pst (or the profile’s data file). That file is your mailbox for this product. Include it in Windows Backup / your backup software.

Why POP3, and what that means day to day
POP3 was designed to collect mail: connect, download, then work offline. That matches this hosting: small server footprint, mail lives with you.
Practical consequences you should plan for:
- One primary computer. The first PC that downloads a message typically has the only copy. A second laptop will not magically show last year’s Inbox.
- Phones are a poor fit for this product. A phone that “eats” mail via POP can empty what the office PC would have received. If you need the phone, use a cloud mailbox product instead.
- Deleting in Outlook deletes your copy. There is no server recycle bin waiting for you.
- Disk failure = mail loss unless the local store was backed up. Kinetic Servers email is not a backup service.
Never send bulk mail from this account
Do not use Kinetic Servers / mx1 mailboxes to send newsletters, promotional blasts, scraped lists, or “just this once” campaigns to hundreds of addresses.
Shared mail hosts protect every customer on the same IP reputation. One bulk send that trips spam traps can blacklist your domain (and hurt neighbours). Ordinary invoices and replies then bounce from Gmail, banks and government inboxes — restoring that takes days and is not guaranteed.
