LEAF OS is NComputing’s Linux-based endpoint operating system for thin clients and x86-64 PCs. NComputing highlights minimal system requirements (about 4GB RAM and 8GB storage), locked-down security, simplified firmware updates, and centralized management.

It is positioned to optimize leading virtual desktop solutions including Amazon WorkSpaces, Citrix, Microsoft (AVD, Windows 365, RDS), NComputing (vSpace Pro, VERDE VDI), and Omnissa.

NComputing publishes minimal requirements commonly cited as about 4GB RAM and 8GB storage on x86-64 (Intel/AMD) PCs or supported thin clients. We validate each device class during paid assessment — older or OEM-locked machines may fail.

3 Can LEAF OS help with Windows 11 migration?

Yes — that is a primary NComputing message: move users to Windows 11 in the cloud (for example Microsoft AVD or Windows 365) while repurposing existing endpoint hardware that is not Windows 11–capable as a local OS, by running LEAF OS as the endpoint.

4 Does LEAF OS support Microsoft Teams optimization?

NComputing documents multimedia capabilities including Microsoft Teams optimization, Browser Content Redirection, and broad USB peripheral support on LEAF OS devices for several platforms (Citrix HDX Ready messaging, AVD/Windows 365/RDS, Omnissa, etc.). Exact behaviour depends on platform client build and firmware — we pilot before scale.

5 How is LEAF OS managed?

Deployment and ongoing maintenance are simplified with PMC Endpoint Manager — device profiles, firmware scheduling, dashboards, and remote admin. Licensing for PMC/AMP must match your SKU bundle.
