What is PMC Endpoint Manager?

PMC is NComputing’s endpoint management product for supported thin clients and LEAF OS devices. It discovers devices, applies profiles, schedules firmware, and provides dashboards/event logs. NComputing describes it as easy for smaller organisations yet powerful enough for large cross-organisational deployments.

Important: PMC is not a generic third-party thin-client manager — stick to supported NComputing/LEAF OS endpoints.

Per NComputing’s PMC page: many RX-RDP / EX500W / LEAF OS purchases include PMC licenses; L400, RX300+, and RX420(vSpace) may require AMP for vSpace Pro or AMP for VERDE VDI. Extended AMP is typically required after the first year for continued firmware/update entitlement on RDP/LEAF-class devices. We never invent SKU rules — we re-read NComputing’s current text and your distributor terms.

1 What is NComputing PMC?

PMC (Endpoint Manager) is NComputing’s central management system for supported thin clients and LEAF OS devices. Administrators discover devices, push configuration profiles, schedule firmware updates, review dashboards and event logs, and remotely administer endpoints — including across LAN/WAN and many NAT/firewall scenarios. 2 Which devices does PMC manage?

PMC manages NComputing access devices and LEAF OS endpoints (PCs/laptops imaged with LEAF OS). NComputing states PMC will not manage arbitrary third-party thin clients. Supported model lists evolve — confirm against current PMC documentation for your firmware generation.

3 Is PMC licensed separately?

Often bundled. NComputing states that purchase of RX-RDP+, RX420(RDP), RX440(RDP), RX540, RX580, EX500W, and LEAF OS includes licenses for PMC, while L400, RX300+, and RX420(vSpace) require AMP for vSpace Pro or AMP for VERDE VDI. After year one, Device AMP is typically required for continued firmware/update entitlement on many SKUs. We reflect this on quotes.

4 Where can PMC be hosted?

NComputing provides PMC as a virtual appliance deployable on common hypervisors (examples cited: VMware ESXi, Citrix XenServer/Hyper-V compatible VMs) and notes availability via Microsoft Azure Marketplace. We size vCPU/RAM/disk for your device count.

5 Can we try PMC for free from NComputing?

NComputing markets a PMC download/trial from its support portal. PrecisionTech’s design, hardening, profile engineering, and production rollout remain paid professional services — consulting is not free.
